Do all off-road vehicles need to be registered with ICBC?
No. If the off-road vehicle is solely operated on private property, it doesn’t need to be registered, however it’s always recommended to have liability coverage at the least. If the vehicle is operated on public land in BC, it needs to be registered.
What’s included in a basic off-road vehicle policy?
Under a basic policy, you receive $200,000 in third party liability. The main difference between a car insurance policy and an off-road vehicle policy is that you don’t automatically receive coverage for theft, damage, or injuries. This needs to be added in addition to your basic policy through ICBC or through extension coverage offerings. Connect with us to learn more about your options when insuring your off-road vehicle.
What coverages are available for off-road vehicles?
We’ve said it once, and we’ve said it again, is the basic liability limit enough if the unexpected happens? With extension coverage options, you can beef up your liability limit to mitigate potential out of pocket expenses.
If an accident occurs out on the trail and your machine is damaged, this coverage will repair damages after paying your deductible.
We never want to imagine a situation where we need to utilize accident benefits, but those expenses can add up if you are in an accident. Accident benefits cover the costs of various expenses if an accident occurs.
Let’s be honest; it’s not just the vehicle that can be pricey. Your gear can add up quickly. If you and your riders have gear, it’s important to look into riding gear coverage.
What does off-road vehicle insurance cost?
The value of your off-road vehicle, accessories, location, and use will impact your premium. Your driving record will also affect your premium. And of course, the optional coverages and deductibles you select will also play a role in the cost.
