Off-road vehicle insurance for Saskatchewan trails, seasons, and storage

Off-road vehicles face different risks than everyday cars and trucks. ATVs, snowmobiles, side-by-sides, dirt bikes, and other recreational vehicles may be exposed to theft, collision damage, liability claims, storage risks, transport damage, and seasonal use across trails, rural properties, private land, and recreational areas.

The right coverage depends on the type of vehicle, where it is used, who rides it, how it is stored, and whether it is transported between locations. Westland helps Saskatchewan riders review coverage options, understand limits and exclusions, and choose protection that fits their vehicle, terrain, season, and budget.

Do all off-road vehicles need to be registered with SGI?

Snowmobiles are the only Off-Road vehicle that is registered in Saskatoon. When you purchase a registration, you receive the minimum $200,000 liability. There is no physical damage coverage included with the plate insurance. Vehicles such as ATV’s and dirtbikes aren’t registered in the province.

What coverages are available for off-road vehicles?

We’ve said it once, and we’ve said it again, is the basic liability limit enough if the unexpected happens? With extension coverage options, you can beef up your liability limit to mitigate potential out of pocket expenses.

If an accident occurs out on the trail and your machine is damaged, this coverage will repair damages after paying your deductible.

On the other hand, physical damage resulting from theft, vandalism or fire will be covered under comprehensive benefits.

What does off-road vehicle insurance cost?

The value of your off-road vehicle, accessories, location, and use will impact your premium. Your driving record will also affect your premium. And of course, the optional coverages and deductibles you select will also play a role in the cost.
