Extended health and dental plans, explained
Some plans have a waiting period before coverage begins, typically ranging from 30 to 90 days. However, this can be customized based on company preferences.
Many plans include coverage for mental health services, including counselling, psychological support, and education through direct coverage or an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
Employees may have options to convert their coverage to an individual plan or continue coverage under certain circumstances.
Depending on the plan structure, employees may have the option to enhance their coverage through voluntary top-ups.
Employers can customize plans to include coverage for paramedical services such as acupuncture, chiropractic care, naturopathy, and massage therapy.
They are typically ‘experience-rated’, meaning they are based on the company’s claims history. During the renewal process, we perform an in-depth analysis to ensure the accuracy and fairness of your rates, helping secure competitive pricing while maintaining high-quality coverage.
