Our History

Westland Insurance Group Ltd. (‘Westland’) was established in 1980 by founder Jeff Wubs as a single-office brokerage in Ladner, British Columbia to meet the insurance needs of individuals and businesses.

Since then, Westland has grown into one of Canada’s largest independently owned insurance distribution businesses. Our head office is located in beautiful South Surrey, BC with more than 150 locations across BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario, employing over 1,600 staff members.

Today, Westland remains a family-run business, managed by 2nd generation owners Jason Wubs (CEO) and Matt Wubs (Executive Director).

With over 40 years of operating history, Westland distributes a full suite of P&C insurance products including home, commercial, auto and other specialized products, with access to all the national insurance product carriers.
