Fundraising and supporting families as a national sponsor for Cassie + Friends

Westland Insurance has been a proud sponsor of Cassie + Friends in Canada since 2009 and a national partner since 2022. For the second year in a row, our Westland staff in Edmonton, AB participated in the Cassie + Friends community run and walk at Sir Wilfred Laurier Park in Edmonton on Saturday, September 14, 2024.  

A group of over 130 attended the event to show support for the kids and families racing together towards a pain-free future for kids. Our own “Westland4Kids” Team contributed by fundraising, giving away Westland swag at our booth, and running in the event. There were a lot of other fun activities at the event such as speeches, prize-draws, face painting and a bouncy castle! To cap it off, over $19,000 was fundraised to support kids and families affected by Juvenile Arthritis and other rheumatic diseases.

Cassie + Friends is the only charity in Canada dedicated 100% to the pediatric rheumatic disease community. We value their championing of research, education, connection and support, and look forward to participating in future Cassie + Friends events that will help strengthen and amplify communities.
