Coldest Night of the Year: Walking together to amplify possibilities

 Community

This year, Westland employees across the country laced up their boots, zipped up their jackets, threw on their toques and stepped out in support of Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY). CNOY is an annual nationwide walk in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness.

For CNOY 2026, 178 Westland employees walked in 30 locations across Canada, supporting 30 local charities that serving people experiencing homelessness in their communities. Together, our branch teams raised more than $17,000 locally, with an additional $20,000 donated on behalf of Westland, bringing the total impact to more than $37,000 !
But these numbers only tell part of the story.

From coast to coast, our employees showed up in cities such as Vancouver, Halifax, and Winnipeg as well as smaller towns like Swift Current, Port Alberni and all the way to Charlottetown. Many of the areas saw numerous branches come together, bringing colleagues, friends, and family members to take part.

Each walk supported a local charity doing critical work right where our employees and clients live, with all funds raised staying in the community. These funds go towards helping provide meals, shelter, support programs, and essential services to people who need them most.

To everyone who participated by walking, fundraising, donating, or encouraging others thank you.

To the 30 charities across Canada who work year-round to support vulnerable individuals and families, thank you for the impact you make every day and allowing us to be a small part of it.
