Our first year with the Northern Super League
What a year! Our first season with the Northern Super League had everything. Big moments, big energy and a community that showed up in a big way. From the first kickoff to the final whistle on November 15 at BMO Field, we were thrilled to help cheer on a new chapter of Canadian sport.
As a founding partner and the official insurance broker of the NSL, our focus was simple. Support the league, show up for the players and help fans feel part of something exciting. Across Canada, we brought the fun to game days with contests, giveaways and in-stadium activities that kept the playoff buzz going.
The league made history this season. Vancouver claimed the very first NSL championship with a 2 to 1 comeback win over Toronto. A crowd of 12,429 fans packed BMO Field for a match that had snow, thunder and lightning. The weather did not slow anyone down. Our Westland employees were bundled up and out meeting fans, handing out swag and celebrating a milestone moment for the league.
Throughout the playoffs, our partnership came to life from coast to coast. We set up Westland booths in Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto to connect with supporters, answer questions and spread the excitement. Fans joined in on contests for playoff tickets and signed jerseys, and it was great to see so many people get involved.
Beyond game days, our sponsorship helped spotlight the league with year round support. From in-stadium signage to digital content and partner storytelling, we worked to help bring more attention to the growth of women’s soccer in Canada and the incredible athletes leading the way.
This first season gave us the chance to celebrate Canadian talent, build new community connections and help amplify the possibilities of a brand new league. We are proud to stand behind the NSL and the players who helped make this year unforgettable.
