Club House 36 Helps at Risk Youth

 Community

Clubhouse 36 is an out-of-school program designed to serve at risk and vulnerable students, ages 6 – 12, from the Surrey Community. The program provides students with a wide range of activities in the likes of sports and art activities, science experiments, fishing, and healthy cooking classes. Ultimately, the goal of the program is to increase confidence and self-esteem of the students, build leadership and peer mediation skills, nurture connection to school and learning, and provide students with skills that can be transferred into academic success in a safe environment.

Currently operating out of three elementary schools, Holly Elementary, Georges Vanier Elementary, and Lena Shaw Elementary, the program provides support to kids also through a breakfast programs, support throughout the day, and through after school programs. Recently, the kids of Clubhouse 36 put on a carnival where the kids designed games for each other to compete in.

Westland Insurance is proud to be a part of this program as one of the founding donors in creating and launching this program as well as assisting in providing volunteers. Raj Chauhan, branch manager of Westland Insurance King’s Cross location recently had the opportunity to interact with the kids, added that

It was a great experience to watch students having the opportunity to enhance their leadership skills & civic duties. Westland Insurance’s corporate support is having a great impact on the lives of these wonderful kids.”

Westland Insurance is committed to assisting the at-risk kids in developing skills to help them be successful in the future.
