Racing towards a pain-free future for kids as a National Sponsor of Cassie + Friends
Westland Insurance has been a proud sponsor since 2009 and a national partner since 2022 of Cassie + Friends in Canada as they grow and advocate for children living with pediatric rheumatic diseases. On the morning of Saturday, September 9, 2023, our Edmonton area Westland branches got involved with the Team Cassie + Friends community run and walk in Edmonton at Sir Wilfred Laurier Park.
Our Westland Team was on-site and fully equipped with swag to cheer on the kids and families as they raced together towards a pain-free future for kids. There were a lot of other fun activities at the event such as face painting, a bouncy castle, a visit from a local fire station with their firetruck, and more! It was a fun and inspiring family-friendly event outdoors. Best of all, over $33,000 was fundraised to support kids and families affected by Juvenile Arthritis and other rheumatic diseases at Stollery Children’s Hospital and Glenrose Rehabilitation Centre.
Cassie + Friends is the only charity in Canada dedicated 100% to the pediatric rheumatic disease community. We value their championing of research, education, connection and support, and look forward to participating in future Cassie + Friends events that will help strengthen and amplify communities.
