Westland Insurance’s sponsorship at the 2024 Ontario winter games

Thunder Bay, Ontario welcomed athletic talent as the city hosted the illustrious 2024 Ontario Winter Games. Westland Insurance was proud to be a sport sponsor for both indoor soccer and wrestling. Here’s a look at how our participation not only fueled the competitive spirit but also left a positive imprint on the local community.

An exciting time for sports enthusiasts

The Ontario Winter Games ran its spirited course from February 16th to the 26th, across various venues in Thunder Bay. With the backing of the Games Ontario program, the event sparkled as a grand showcase for top aspiring athletes in the province.

Westland’s support: futsal and wrestling achievements

We had the honor of sponsoring striking young talents in Futsal and Wrestling—sports that enthrall with their dynamism and display of precision. Teams descended from every nook of Ontario, from the metropolis of Toronto to the charming landscapes of Northern Ontario.

Our local team from the Thunder Bay Chill mirrored the same tenacity by winning silver in Futsal—a true cause for celebration among the cheers and fanfare.

Community engagement at its best

The Westland team, vibrant and enthusiastic, passed the joy around with Westland hockey sticks and chocolates, amongst other swag! These tokens elevated the Westland spirit, resonating well with our vision of community enrichment.

A warm thank you to our team

Such an endeavor would not have been possible without the heartwarming dedication of our Westland staff. A gracious salute to Heather Miles, MaryLynn Douglas, Melissa Pearson, Lory Demers, Lindsey Kosolowski, Samantha Lowery, Lorene Rego, and Natasha Sozio, who became the faces of Westland Insurance during the games.

Memories beyond medals

Between cheering for breathtaking goals or being ringside for the wrestling matches, the community, linked by shared memories, grew stronger. The Opening Ceremonies at the Old Fort William Historical Park were nothing short of extraordinary.
